      The timeless elegance of chypre

In the words of Christian Dior, "I created this perfume to wrap each woman in exquisite femininity, as if each of my designs were emerging from the bottle one by one." Born with the New Look in 1947, the house’s first perfume incarnates the signature of a great designer in the timeless elegance and refinement of a classic green chypre with galbanum and jasmine.

      Perfumer's words

This unique green chypre is an olfactory revolution that makes a lasting impression.

      • GALBANUM
      Miss Dior Original
      Extrait de Parfum

An Extrait exalts the accord of a fragrance without caricaturing it, grasps its character without restricting it, and highlights its complexity while bringing out its brilliance and arousing immediate sensuality. The first fragrance by Christian Dior, Miss Dior Original revolutionised perfumery with its avant-garde accord. An elegant fragrance with a dash of impertinence.

        • Top noteGALBANUM

The galbanum plant grows in Iran and Afghanistan. Its gum is harvested by cutting into the roots and is then distilled. The essence obtained blends well with herbaceous and chypre green tones. It brings a touch of impertinence as the top note of Miss Dior.

        • Heart noteSAMBAC JASMINE

The symbol of soft femininity, jasmine is one of the most commonly used flowers in perfumery. It is so delicate that it alone is a fragrance. Jasmine is one of the components of the heart note of Miss Dior.

        • Base notePATCHOULI

Patchouli is a plant originally from Indonesia and Malaysia. A key element of the perfumer's palette, its essence is obtained by steam distilling the dried leaves. It is used in chypre, woody and oriental fragrances.
