DIOR LADY ART
A new artistic collaboration
Architectural lines, metal charms that spell out the Dior name and the 'Cannage' motif inspired by the seats of the Napoleon III chairs on which Christian Dior sat his guests for his fashion shows...
The Lady Dior bag, created in 1995, embodies the House's contemporary elegance and naturally lends itself to every interpretation and artistic appropriation. To mark the opening of the House of Dior in London last June and for the Dior Lady Art project, the House invited the London sculptor, illustrator and painter Marc Quinn to share his vision of the iconic bag and small leather goods available in a limited edition in the store. Today, the story is continuing with six new British and American artists, who are revealing their creations in the Miami store, in a pop-up store in Los Angeles, then in London, China, Dubai and Paris. Through this collaboration, the House is pushing back the limits of its expertise to meet the artists' demands. This project gives complete carte blanche to these artists, who have transposed their world into Dior's leathermaking lexicon.
