DEAREST DIOR

GALERIA

Victoire de Castellane continues her precious dialogue with Christian Dior by opening, with Cher Dior , a new chapter in the collection homage to the couturier.

First with Dear Dior , Monsieur Dior's couture provided the source of inspiration for the colorful and scrumptious-looking jewels: their lines evoking those of the couture costume jewels with which Christian Dior decked out his models, their precious swirling arabesques an echo of the lace designs used in the couturier's dresses. Already with that Victoire de Castellane had produced her first love letter to the Dior couture; a dialogue written in stones in palpitating tones, that's now being followed by Cher Dior , a second letter addressed to the Monsieur Dior that Victoire admires so much. It's a more intimate letter, for certain, as evidenced in the twenty-one pieces in the collection, but as full of admiration and respect as always, focusing on the shared passion for color of the couturier and the creative director of jewelry. For if, for the couturier, colors had the power to "to change your whole appearance ", for the designer, they compliment or contrast, and ultimately form their own dialogue.

The red and blue of rich fabrics are echoed in rubies and sapphires. On bracelets and ear pendants, on rings and necklaces, the stones create joyful, intense combinations: diamonds and Paraiba tourmalines, rubies and emeralds, demantoid garnets and sapphires appear in a palette of meticulous and creative color. Deep inside the ateliers of thehaute joaillerie, fantasy and creation come together, united by the exceptional savoir-faire of the craftspeople as they give life to the jewels down to the last detail (their internal structure based on a dotted muslin design). Here again, behind the façade, couture and jewelry are collaborating and dialoguing, continuing to communicate in a vernacular all their own: that of a dream.
