Until April 14, the London department store Harrods is giving over it's interior and windows to the house of Dior which, for the occasion, has dressed some of its iconic creations in the colors of England.
Between Dior and England is a love story that's lasted since Christian Dior's early childhood, spent at Granville, facing the Channel Islands. Between Dior and Harrods is a tale of mutual admiration born with the first fashion show held there by the Paris house in 1953. And so it was an easy task today for the couture house to come up with a range of exclusive products to celebrate the British streak in its history. The house icons lend themselves naturally to the game, dressed in some of the most emblematic colors and motifs of the kingdom: shocking red and tartan for the Mise en Dior necklace and the Diorissimo and Lady Dior bags. The cannage of the latter is, in turn, the inspiration for a number of exclusive creations, including leather and tartan pochettes, jewelry boxes, and the palette for My Lady illuminating powder. The house is offering a total of eight exclusive accessories and beauty products, indispensable for that made-in-London look.
The Windsor and Diorling nail varnishes are a nod to the Duchess of Windsor - a faithful client of the house - and to the bilingual name of a Dior perfume created in 1963. The Dior Addict Lipstick Duchesse picks up the delicate coloring of duchesse satin. And as for the teddy bear, the emblem of Harrods, it's the star of the event: at its neck it sports a Trianon gray silk ribbon that delicately ties the history of Dior and Harrods together.
