RED ALERT

The Chiffre Rouge watch line heralds the arrival of a new member, the C01 model, and with it, for the first time, a technological marvel in the form of a retrograde function.

Boasting sharp features and a signature cotton piqué motif, it has all the chic that timeless timekeeping suggests. Conceived along pure, classically elegant lines, the Chiffre Rouge watch is the perfect horologic embodiment of the house’s masculine side.
Launched in 2004, it was Dior’s first automatic watch. With its sporty allure and partially notched bezel, the Chiffre Rouge, developed by the Dior Homme design studio, is resolutely masculine.
For 2012 the model has evolved. Without being radically altered, and with its aesthetic integrity intact, it’s been transformed and had its elegance elevated with technical flair. The C01, the line’s newest addition, wears its newness on its face: in addition to the power reserve and weekday indicators, the date is indicated with a retrograde hand.

It marks an important first for a Dior timepiece. And the thing that makes the retrograde function so special? The hand never completes a full revolution of the dial. It goes as far as to indicate the last day of the month before descending and repositioning itself on the first day of the following month in the blink of an eye.
On the watch face of the Chiffre Rouge C01, available in ebony and ivory versions, the hand rises and falls, like the beating of a wing. The days come and go to a technological choreography. At Dior, time is the essence of know-how.
