A patron in 2017 of the LUMA Arles Foundation's archives program, an organization that supports creation, the House reinforces its links with art by launching the Prix Dior de la Photographie pour Jeunes Talents. This competition is aimed at rewarding art school students around the world. For this debut edition, the candidates were invited to explore the notions of beauty, color and femininity corresponding to the theme “Woman-Women Faces”.

Yoonkyung Jang caught the eye of the jury, chaired by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, with his vintage-style images in saturated colors. As a result, she received an endowment of ten thousand euros and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the House for an artistic project. Her creations are being exhibited during Les Rencontres de la Photographie d’Arles at the Parc des Ateliers from July 2nd to September 23rd. The work of seven other winners selected by the jury will also be on show.

Masculine

Riffing on contrasting black and white, the two-tone Dior Unit shoes in the Fall 2018 ready-to-wear collection provide the finishing touch to a look with subtly masculine accents. The Dior21st bag, meanwhile, is characterized by its handle, gilt metal chain, and its graphic fastener featuring Christian Dior’s initials.

Diordirection

For the Fall 2018 ready-to-wear collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Artistic Director of the House’s women’s collections, was inspired by the world of the Surrealist artist Claude Cahun whose work notably questions notions of identity and gender. In the process, the Dior Direction shoes revisited a timeless element of the male wardrobe: moccasins. Just like the black lambskin leather Diordirection bag, they are embellished with Christian Dior’s initials in aged-effect gilt metal.

La Dolce Vita

To celebrate the arrival of summer, Dior heads to Rome, the Eternal City and home of the good life.

With only a few days to go before the official start of summer, the House invites you, through a joyful and colorful film, on a guided tour of the Italian capital. Audrey Hepburn, as the playful and sparkling heroine of Roman Holiday – the 1950s William Wyler movie – plays the guide on a Vespa. The House’s summer creations appear throughout her tour all around the city. The floral and feminine composition of Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet has taken up residence at the Trevi Fountain, that monumental symbol of Rome, while the Dior Vernis are to be found sunbathing by a pool. Further on, Dior Addict Lip Tattoo lipsticks blend into their background, their pop shades as deliciously-colored gelato.
