Dior Maison

Dedicated to art de vivre and the art of entertaining – two of Christian Dior’s key passions – the Dior Maison line, directed by Cordelia de Castellane, now welcomes an iconic motif: toile de Jouy.

Toile de Jouy, a great 18th-century French classic, was a favorite textile motif of Christian Dior who, in 1947, chose it to upholster his boutique “Colifichets”, realized with the decorator Victor Grandpierre following the advice of the artist Christian Bérard. It was reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri for the cruise 2019 collection with the introduction of a series of wild animals in lush vegetation. This season, this revisited design also makes its mark on the creations of Dior Maison, on a flatware service in blue or red conceived by Cordelia de Castellane.

The skin was first moisturized using the three essentials from the Dior Homme Dermo System skincare line: Invigorating Moisturizing Emulsion, Pore Control Perfecting Essence, and Anti-Fatigue Firming Eye Serum. Then the complexion was covered with the Face and Body Foundation, available in forty different shades and with an airy texture that blends into the skin for a luminous result. The eyebrows were subtly highlighted using Dior Backstage Brow Palette shades and the Diorshow Brow Styler pen. And, lastly, the mouth was simply smoothed with the Dior Addict Lip Sugar Scrub.

The Dior logo revisited by the Japanese artist Hajime Soroyama also inspired Peter Philips, who placed “applications in silvery volumes, some with rainbow effects” on the models’ necks, forearms or hands.
