savoir-faire autumn winter collection

Couture Embroidery

Harnessing the unique savoir-faire perpetuated by the Vermont atelier in Paris, metallic thread embroidery enhances the contours of precious patchworks. Elegance incarnate, an embroidery entirely made by hand reproduces the effect of a delicate guipure. A virtuoso ode to the beauty of the gesture.

Mouvement

Celebrating the beauty and architecture of nature, the creations in the Dior haute couture fall-winter 2021-2022 collection are inspired by the symmetrical shapes observed on elements such as geological strata, snowflakes, feathers and algae as well as fossils seen under the microscope. The virtuoso savoir-faire of plumasserie is reinvented on a dress entirely embroidered with cascades of feathers, in a burst of lightness and finesse.

Precious Weaves

Thread - the raw material of fabric, the starting point of couture and a major inspiration for the collection - is at the heart of Maria Grazia Chiuri's creative process. The notion of weaving, and the basic act of crossing and combining elements to create a structure, shapes each silhouette. For these exceptional pieces, the threads were worked one by one to compose innovative material effects, with the beads inserted by hand on the loom.

Bold Illusions

In this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri rethinks the essence of couture, turning every detail into a virtuoso punctuation. Thanks to the meticulous work of the bias, the fabric is metamorphosed into delicate chains embellishing the necklines. The braiding embraces the very structure of the dresses and is integrated into the pleats.
