The Savoir-Faire Ski Capsule

The Ski Capsule, an original collection of ready-to-wear, skis, snowboards and accessories designed by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior men’s collections, in close collaboration with Houses renowned for excellence, is a concentration of unique savoir-faire. Discover, in images, how these high-performance pieces are made, fusing cutting-edge expertise and exceptional design.

Created in collaboration with the Japanese specialist Descente as a limited-edition series, down jackets are made from eco-friendly nylon that is treated using an iron-and-press technique to guarantee the fabric’s ultra-light, waterproof and insulating qualities, followed by a specific tapping process to reinforce impermeability.

The skis, meanwhile, are made in the Swiss workshops of AK SKI, using an artisanal process that combines machine precision with the infinite meticulousness of handcraftsmanship. “DIOR” lettering is preciously cut out and affixed to the boards, then different layers of fiberglass and resin are applied to the wood, creating a singular composite.

Designed by POC in Sweden, helmets are made from a polystyrene mold – ensuring maximum protection – and then sheathed in an outer layer that combines attention to detail and exclusive finishes.

Distinctive signatures of a sportswear silhouette, sublimated by the beauty of the gesture.
