Fall 2023 Ready-to-Wear Show
Online on March 30th, at 11 pm HKT (8.30 pm Mumbai time)
Finding a new ingenious way of talking about feelings and emotions that can connect us with a country and its culture is precisely what Maria Grazia Chiuri wished to accomplish in this Dior Fall 2023 collection,
THE MEETING OF CULTURES
For the Dior Fall 2023 show – presented on March 30 in Mumbai – Maria Grazia Chiuri is once again collaborating with Chanakya to thus unveil a monumental installation, inspired by the traditional Indian toran: a virtuoso piece of nearly eight meters high, conceived by the artisans under the direction of Karishma Swali (Artistic Director of Chanakya). A poetic representation expressing the power of the community, but also the passionate dialogue to spotight the excellence of Indian artisanship that has united Maria Grazia Chiuri and Chanakya for the last 30 years.
Pursuing her construction of passionate dialogues with the world's cultures, Maria Grazia Chiuri has dreamed up – for the Dior Fall 2023 show in Mumbai – a series of unprecedented looks paying tribute to Indian textile traditions. This artistic exchange, based on sharing and transmission, transcends borders and epochs in order to highlight, more than ever, the plurality of ancestral artisanship.
