DIOR PRINT

Dior Print, the new High Jewellery collection, explores a new and original chapter in the theme dedicated to couture with printed patterns. After being interested in a long while with materials and detailing on fabrics, such as lace in the 2018 Dior Dior Dior collection, or braids in the Galons Dior collection launched in January 2022, Victoire de Castellane is proposing to “draw prints on jewels”.

This collection unveils a set of classic and figurative prints, traditionally used in couture.

The thirty-five sets of jewels recapture checked, striped and colour-shaded patterns borrowed from Tie & Dye colourings, or a floral print in a subtle tribute to the Miss Dior dress created by Christian Dior in 1949.

Each printed pattern is though out like a hand-sewn and crafted fabric with the gemstones placed to give a glimpse of what Victoire de Castellane calls “accidents”, providing the jewels with an overall and deliberately disordered look.

Parallel to this work of transposing printed patterns, the collection highlights an audacious mix of shapes. The same prints appear in a variety of ribbons, flowers or cushions, while the patterns mould and enhance the jewels’ volumes, thereby creating delicate movements and the absolute embodiment of elegance.

Feminine and sensual, the pieces are flexible and fluid, like airy-light fabrics worn next to the skin.

In addition to this prolific creativity, the pieces also reveal exceptional centre stones. More than ever, the Dior Print collection demonstrates the care given to the search for extraordinary gemstones.
