Kim Jones, the Creative Director of Dior Men, is committed to preserving the legacy of the House while infusing it with contemporary design codes. His celebration of Christian Dior's heritage is made apparent through the effortless sophistication of every design as well as the use of emblematic motifs such as Dior Oblique or the House's beloved bee. Often adorning the designer men's clothing, the small creature is a French imperial symbol signifying strength and power. The Creative Director imagines luxury men's clothing that is made to seamlessly fit into the modern man's lifestyle, offering him refinement when the occasion calls for it, but also able to easily pare back for more casual style moments. His range of styles includes T-shirts, sweaters, cardigans, denim, handsomely tailored suits, jackets, and pants, amongst other wardrobe staples.
Some pieces remain classic thanks to a straightforward style with a 'DIOR' inscription across the front, embroidered emblems or a Dior Oblique pattern. Others are made modern, like dinner jackets with asymmetrical cuts or tailored pants with the addition of cargo pockets. The fashion-forward styling always feels fresh and easily wearable. To provide the wearer with comfort, natural materials are often used, including wool, silk, cashmere, linen and cotton. Technical fabrics are used for sportier, modern pieces. Each of the Creative Director's designs is brought to life in the Christian Dior ateliers, by their dedicated, expert craftsmen and women. The House's savoir-faire is showcased in every piece, even in Kim Jones' relaxed and casual styles. The Creative Director is known for the unexpected mix of sportswear with tailored looks. The T-shirts and knitwear are designed to look just as striking with a suit as they do with track pants and sneakers. The contrast-driven styling has become a Dior Men signature.
