For 18 years, Dior Science has been exploring the field of inflammaging, encompassing all the micro-inflammations that occur in cells when the skin has to defend itself against daily environmental stress.
Today, Dior Science reveals a new discovery in the stage preceding inflammation, to pre-empt the skin's inflammatory process: pre-inflammaging.
In collaboration with the Hôpital Saint-Louis in Paris, renowned for its dermatological expertise, Dior Science has identified a skin irritation marker called the MIF,* which is responsible for snowballing the inflammatory process.
Over time, the rate of the MIF increases, making the skin thin and age increasingly faster.
* MIF: macrophage migration inhibitory factor.
