Dior Maison Unveils the Les Cerisiers Collection
Sharing a taste for both the avant-garde and the traditional, Christian Dior had a deep connection to the Land of the Rising Sun. During his childhood, he developed an abiding fascination and respect for the richness, sophistication and refinement of Japanese culture. To showcase this enduring affection, Dior Maison unveils the Les Cerisiers line inspired by the Spring-Summer 1953 Haute Couture collection titled Jardin Japonais, featuring a bird on a cherry blossom motif. The hallmark design is reimagined in a series of essentials, including decorative objects (some accented with raffia), dishes, glassware and table linens. The selection is completed by two decorative boxes created in collaboration with the Manufacture des Émaux de Longwy, founded in 1798. The collection represents an everlasting fantasy of foreign lands.
