Dior Constellations
Dior celebrates its 70th anniversary in 2017; a great opportunity for Galeries Lafayette to celebrate this Dior milestone. On 12th February 1947, Christian Dior presented his first haute couture collection, later renamed New Look, as well as his first fragrance, Miss Dior. It was a true revolution in femininity, echoed ever since by subsequent Artistic Directors through to Maria Grazia Chiuri today. At the same time as these anniversary celebrations, with the major Christian Dior, dream couturier exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until 7th January in particular, Dior also takes centre stage at Galeries Lafayette from 20th September to 10th October. There will be 11 window displays, exclusive products and promotions under the Dome as well as the "I Feel Blue" exhibition in the Galerie des Galeries, featuring 12 archive outfits by Monsieur Dior demonstrating his fondness for this colour made famous by the kings of France.
Exhibition
As a tribute to the Christian Dior, dream couturier exhibition celebrating 70 years of Dior at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the Galerie des Galeries unveiled 12 blue outfits from the archives, all designed by Christian Dior. These designs highlight his fondness for this multi-faceted colour, from the Doris navy woollen coat in the very first New Look collection in 1947 to Billet Doux, an afternoon dress made of blue silk damask with a rose pattern, designed in 1957. Meanwhile, the colour blue is also featured in the Galerie des Galeries window displays for complete immersion in the « I Feel blue » experience.

Wegens het uitzonderlijke succes van de tentoonstelling Dior: From Paris to the World in het Denver Art Museum zal de tentoonstelling van 19 mei tot en met 1 september 2019 in een nieuwe vorm in het Dallas Museum of Art te bewonderen zijn. Deze overzichtstentoonstelling is een eerbetoon aan meer dan 70 jaar haute couture en neemt de bezoeker mee op een reis door de tijd en langs de vele landen die de oprichter-couturier en zijn opvolgers hebben verkend.
