The Centifolia rose is notably grown in Dior’s exclusive rose fields in Grasse, the world capital of perfumery, nestled in the heart of the south of France, so dear to Christian Dior. Among them is Château de la Colle Noire, his Provençal residence, as well as the Naysses estate, where his younger sister Catherine Dior, the inspiration behind Miss Dior, cultivated roses. From 1947 to the present day, this animated film recounts the story of Miss Dior, born from Christian Dior’s love for his sister Catherine, his Grasse roses, and his dream of creating “a fragrance that smells like love.” Produced by the team at Remembers, the French animation studio founded by Ugo Bienvenu and Félix de Givry, this brand-new film is imbued with the same grace and poetry key to the success of Arco, their multi-award-winning, Oscar-nominated full-length animation co-produced by Natalie Portman.
