Our Commitments

Social Responsibility

As a symbol of excellence and French craftsmanship, the House of Dior is fully aware of its cultural role, as well as its social responsibility. Since 1947, we have been committed to passing on our expertise, values, and creativity, with the intention of actively contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable society, and offering everyone the freedom to dream and shape their future.

Whether it concerns education, solidarity, equal opportunity, diversity, or the preservation of cultural and artisanal heritage, Dior acts with conviction to promote universal, inclusive, and sustainable values – all in the service of empowering individuals, everywhere.

“Women, with their intuitive instinct, understood that I dreamed not only of making them more beautiful, but happier, too.” – Christian Dior

Empowerment and Agency of Women

In founding his House in 1946, Christian Dior brought his dreams to life by revolutionizing fashion with the New Look. Through his creations, he shaped a new vision of femininity and womanhood: free, bold, and radiant. His visionary spirit continues to inspire all generations. From the very beginning, the empowerment and independence of women have been at the heart of Dior’s DNA, and represent one of the cornerstones of the brand’s global social commitment.

Mentorship, Education, and Leadership

Launched in partnership with UNESCO, the Women@Dior initiative (https://womenatdior.com/) is a unique international program for mentorship, education, and incubation, in collaboration with 75 schools and universities around the world. To date, over 2,000 young women from 90 nationalities and 60 countries have been supported to develop their confidence, talent, leadership, and sense of agency.

Building on its partnership with UNESCO, Dior has also established a long-term collaboration with Ewha University in Seoul. Since 2022, a dedicated educational program has been offered there, which includes scholarships and mentoring support. This initiative embodies the House’s commitment to women’s empowerment and supporting local communities.

Exceptional Craftsmanship, a Living Heritage

Passing on what we are, what we know, and what we create is also an integral part of Dior’s DNA.

Shining a Light on Expertise and Exceptional Artisans

The House preserves its exceptional craftsmanship through several tangible commitments: organizing international exhibitions and events to showcase its creative, sales, and artisanal métiers, inspiring new vocations; training and recruiting the talents of tomorrow; and highlighting the remarkable work of our artisans, the true guardians of Dior excellence.

At Christian Dior Couture, we honour our finest artisans. They are the true embodiment of our exceptional savoir-faire. As such, they join the LVMH Virtuosos community, where they are awarded an honorary title and gain access to personal development programmes, masterclasses, and exclusive visits to iconic sites such as the Palace of Versailles in France. Since the very beginning, the transmission of knowledge, training, and the preservation of excellence and exceptional craftsmanship have been at the heart of our House.

Promoting Cultural and Artistic Heritage

Driven by its values and deep attachment to the arts in all their forms, Dior carries out numerous patronage initiatives to support creativity and promote culture and heritage across the world.

In France, Dior is committed to preserving and enhancing heritage through several major initiatives: the replanting of the Tuileries Garden, the restoration of the ceiling in the Diana Room at the Palace of Versailles, and the renovation of the Queen’s House in the Trianon Hamlet.

The House also supports the Rodin Museum, where it enabled the acquisition of one of the earliest known terracotta works by the Master, as well as the École Militaire, where it contributed to the renovation of the Governor’s Salons.

These projects involve numerous artisans – cabinetmakers, upholsterers, gardeners, thatchers – and testify to the richness of French craftsmanship. Dior fashion shows, held in these iconic venues, also contribute to their cultural prominence on the global stage.

Internationally, Dior supports the preservation of artistic and cultural heritage in several countries. For instance, in Italy, the House partners with the Venetian Heritage Foundation to restore iconic Venetian sites, including the Porta Magna of the Arsenal and the Ca’ d’Oro museum. In the Vatican, Dior collaborates with the Apostolic Library on the En Route exhibition and a scholarship program dedicated to digitizing the Poma.Periodici archives. In the United States, a multi-year partnership with the Brooklyn Museum showcases the House’s cultural commitment. In China, Dior supports the Museum of Art Pudong (MAP), the Chen Yifei retrospective, artist Kenny Scharf, and the Beijing Dangdai contemporary art fair.

Fostering Respect for One Another

The House actively fights against all forms of discrimination and celebrates the uniqueness of each individual. It is committed to creating an inclusive, respectful, and nurturing work environment that fosters both personal and professional development. In this spirit, Dior raises awareness among its employees through international training programs and the All LVMH Pride network.

Disability at Dior

Since 2013, Dior has been actively committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities through concrete actions in recruitment, training, and job retention.

The House supports local initiatives, such as in the United States, with Runway of Dreams, promoting access to adaptive clothing; in Italy, with art4sport ONLUS, founded by Paralympic athlete Bebe Vio, helping young people with disabilities participate in sports through specialized equipment. In Japan, the Dior Farm project led to the creation of three urban farms, providing a tailored working environment for people with disabilities, with the harvests shared between employees and charitable organizations.

Working for Equal Opportunities

Dior takes concrete action to foster access to education and employment for young people in several regions of the world. For example, in France, the House supports young people in Seine-Saint-Denis in building their professional futures. In India, it backs the Centum Foundation, providing technical training to 240 people, mostly migrant women, enabling them to enter the textile or automotive industries. In China, Dior partners with the Dongrun Foundation to ensure young people from rural areas have access to quality education.

Solidarity in Action

Dior is committed to contributing to a more supportive society by supporting innovation and medical research, particularly in areas related to genetic diseases, via the Imagine Institute, and cancer research, through organizations like Odyssea and the American Cancer Society.

The House also carries out actions to support the most vulnerable people, in partnership with UNICEF, the Red Cross, and other major organizations.

Charitable support lies at the heart of our social responsibility, and we ensure that all employees have the opportunity to engage in concrete projects that have a positive impact on society.

Supporting Medical Research

Dior actively supports medical research, notably alongside the Imagine Institute, a reference center for genetic diseases at the Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital. The House is also engaged in the fight against sickle cell disease in collaboration with Robert Debré Hospital. Each year, Dior supports the cause by participating in the Dîner des Maisons engagées, organized by LVMH.

Additionally, Dior mobilizes its employees globally for Pink October, with nearly 4,000 participants in the Odyssea solidarity race in support of the fight against breast cancer.

Our Employees Take Action

Dior Day for Good is an emblematic initiative that offers all of the House’s employees, worldwide, the opportunity to dedicate a day to a charitable cause they care about. In a world marked by numerous challenges, Dior advocates for collective responsibility and encourages everyone to take action.

This initiative is a concrete reflection of the House’s values: making solidarity a reality and allowing each person to contribute to a more responsible future. Today, all employees can engage with associations, with over 250 organizations supported globally through this program.

Supporting Employees Facing Personal Hardship

To assist employees facing serious and urgent personal situations, Dior offers them the opportunity to request support from the LVMH Heart Fund. This fund, endowed with 30 million euros and a dedicated helpline, provides emergency financial assistance, as well as social and psychological support, all in strict confidentiality, to employees in need.
