    Behind the Louis XVI sofas in his salons, Christian Dior put out gold Napoleon III-style chairs with cane seats for customers and journalists to sit on at his first show on 12 February 1947. Without realising it, Christian Dior gave the house one of the signatures that still survives to this today.
