Lily-of-the-valley, rose and jasmine. Francis Kurkdjian wanted to embody the magic of those fleeting moments when Christian Dior would pause to admire one of his flowers at La Colle Noire. Blending cutting-edge technology with traditional Grasse extraction techniques, each fragrance in this trio evokes the essence of a soliflore. These rare scents serve as an ongoing source of inspiration for master artisans. Each year, they will reinvent the bouquet bottle designed by Christian Dior himself in 1956 for his fragrance Diorissimo. Released in very limited quantities, this trio represents an annual celebration of the harmony between nature and art.
Christian Dior cherished his childhood memories of roses in Granville, which inspired the fields of Centifolia roses on the grounds of the Château de La Colle Noire. The rose is the flower among all flowers. For this tribute to Grasse’s Centifolia rose, Francis Kurkdjian imagined how exhilarated the couturier-perfumer must have felt when the roses bloomed in early May.
“With this Récolte Majeure, I wanted to convey a naked rose, a “real” rose in a soliflore that captures all its honeyed sweetness and fruity, spicy beauty. A rose in its field, sovereign, green and vivid, just how it smelled to Christian Dior on his land.”
