At Dior, the art of perfume is expressed not only through the creation of fragrances but also through the design of their bottles. As early as 1947, Christian Dior created an exceptional bottle for his first fragrance, Miss Dior, giving birth to the Amphora. This ancient shape was chosen to reflect the famous hourflass silhouette that symbolises the New Look.
The expertise of skilled craftspeople is evident in the refined details: each Amphora is carefully shaped in a French glassworks, delicately chiselled, and hand-decorated with fine 22-karat gold. Each piece is then packaged by the ladies of the Dior atelier using exclusive perfumery savoir-faire.
