Created in 1949 by Edmond Roudnitska, Diorama is the second fragrance of the House. An avant-garde scent that laid the foundations for abstract expressionism in the world of perfumery. Crafted with the same precision as a haute couture gown, it balances contrasting accords of spices and flowers. An olfactory incarnation of the great elegance and sophistication that Christian Dior so cherished. The Dioriginals collection brings together the House of Dior’s emblematic signatures, restored by Francis Kurkdjian, Perfume Creative Director. He set out to recover the fragrances’ original formulas, presented in the 1948 bottle that once housed Christian Dior’s first iconic creations.

A word from the perfumer
Restoration of olfactory masterpieces
“Just as one takes care of a delicate work of art, a fragrance needs to be cherished. Just as one revives the luster and colors of a painting, the raw materials of a fragrance must be restored to preserve their quality, brilliance and nuances.”
Francis Kurkdjian, Dior Perfume Creative Director
The collection
At the heart of Dior heritage
The Dioriginals collection brings together 13 emblematic signatures that have shaped the olfactory heritage of the House of Dior and left their mark on the history of perfumery. These fragrances have been artfully restored by Perfume Creative Director Francis Kurkdjian, who has made it his mission to rediscover their original compositions. This is a journey through 80 years of Dior perfumery, from classic icons by Edmond Roudnitska to more recent creations.
The ‘Oval’ bottle
The Dioriginals are presented in the 1948 "Oval" bottle, which has housed them since their creation. It is now adorned with a refined, textured label that recreates the oval design, framed by a striated metallic ring engraved with the "CD" monogram.
