The architectural lines of the Lady Dior are reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri in new colors and formats for the Dior Fall 2022 collection.
Playing with the effects of different materials, the Creative Director has dreamed up new models such as the Lady Dior All Over Stud, which is punctuated with subtle studding that redefines the contours of the iconic cannage. As for the Lady Dior Wicker, it glows in a variety of fluorescent shades, while the Lady D-Lite is adorned with emblematic motifs of the season, such as the Ciel de rêve print or details revisiting the art of macramé. Another delightful surprise, the Lady D-Joy is transformed into ultra-contemporary and exclusive variations decorated with sequin embroidery.

SAVOIR-FAIRE AND EXCELLENCE, WITH HEART
Every Lady Dior starts its journey in Dior’s Italian workshops, where the petites mains’ virtuoso craftsmanship brings it to life. This constantly evolving savoir-faire redefines the possible, while each detail, carried out with infinite meticulousness, shapes each bag’s own identity. And as a final touch, the must-have bag is adorned with delicate "Dior" lucky charms, recalling those that Monsieur Dior, passionate about magical thinking, carried everywhere with him.
LADY DIANA AND LADY DIOR
The House’s iconic Lady Dior bag is eternally linked to Lady Diana, Princess of Wales. In September 1995, while attending the opening of the Paul Cézanne retrospective at the Grand Palais in Paris, the First Lady of France presented her with a yet-unreleased Dior bag – then called Chouchou. During an official visit to Argentina in November of the same year, the Princess appeared carrying the bag as she was getting off the plane in Buenos Aires. The scene was immortalized in a now iconic photo immediately circulated around the world. The accessory quickly became one of Lady Diana’s go-to pieces, and she wore it during all of her outings, going as far as requesting a navy blue version to match her eyes. It’s only natural that Lady Diana, who loved the bag for its modern, elegant curves – and simply “because it suited [her] well,” eventually inspired the name of this object of desire.

The Dior Lady Art project gives painters, sculptors and designers carte blanche to transform this icon according to their artistic vision, with the House’s virtuoso techniques and craftsmanship at their disposal. The Lady Dior then becomes a unique work of art, merging heritage and creative visions.
